Joke designed some sweet confetti bags last spring while she was preparing for our first PACKAGING 101 workshop. These bags would come in handy to package small gifts or party favors. Read how she made them here.

We wanted to show another fun way to use our HELLO gift tags. For this package we stitched a HELLO gift tag on to a glassine bag. We love the contrast of the pink neon thread against the grey gift tag. If you come up with some clever ways to use our gift tags please share with us!

We are excited to share our first free download with our lovely SHIMTOKK friends. We are big believers in giving unexpected gifts to people we love. Who says you can only give gifts on birthdays and holidays? Sometimes just a little box of treats is all we need to show a loved one that we care. Joke designed little "HELLO" gift tags that you can use to make pretty little packages.
Step One // Click here to download your own HELLO gift tags.
Step Two // Print the gift tags on to cardstock. (We used 100 lb smooth white cardstock.)
Step Three // Cut out the gift tags with scissors (you can use an Xacto knife).
Step Four // Mix and match the tags to create fun packages!

We want to start sharing some of our favorite packaging supplies here at SHIMTOKK. There are so many fun materials and resources out there to make creative packaging fun and easy. First up is the beloved washi tape. Although it has been popular for awhile we still love to incorporate it in our packaging in new ways. MT has an amazing selection of solid colors (in various widths) and patterned washi tape. We want to get our hands on some MT wrap which looks so fun to play around with. And if you're looking for washi tape inspiration you can always check out the MT wrapping book.

We taught our second PACKAGING 101 workshop back in July at Modern Domestic, a sewing studio in N Portland (which by the way has an amazing and knowledgable staff). We were lucky to have another wonderful group of students and the three hours of packaging goodness flew by quickly. Joke and I added some new projects to this class, particularly since we had the luxury of using Modern Domestic's awesome Bernina sewing machines (yes, I'm itching for a major upgrade!). We played around with the Epic Six and made sweet diecut boxes and letterpressed cards. And of course everyone loved using the Divine Twine in their projects. Again our favorite part of teaching our PACKAGING 101 workshops is seeing all the creative goodness our students come up with. We'll be posting about some of our favorite projects here on SHIMTOKK over the next few weeks. Stay tuned!

S U P P L I E S
1. Epic Six
3. Little Bitty Bag [we used the pink chevron]
4. Heavy weight cotton cardstock
5. Pink fine-tip pen
6. Scissors or paper cutter
I N S T R U C T I O N S
1. Cut cardstock to 2.5" x 3.75".
2. Follow instructions for the Epic Six. Place paper and petite printing plate on letterpress platform and feed through Epic Six.
3. Use pink pen to color in random letterpressed dots.
4. Write a special note to a friend or loved one on the mini card.
5. Insert mini card into Little Bitty Bag.
